Homeless 18-Year-Olds: "What influence do we have over the family we're born into?"

Paulina Socha-Jakubowska, "Wprost": Stereotypically, we see homeless people as more mature, older people who haven't succeeded in life. Meanwhile, you're helping people who haven't yet succeeded in life because they're very young.
Agnieszka Sikora: The Po Drugie Foundation works with people who are 18, 19, 20 years old, so they are on the verge of adulthood and basically you could say that "something went wrong in their life", but not because of them, because what influence do we have on the family we were born into?
What influence do we have on what kind of street, neighborhood, or place this is? None. Most of the young people we work with have never truly had a real home. A home where one feels safe, at peace, where one can fulfill one's potential, where one can grow up and have a good childhood...
Most of these young people were simply not so lucky and their fate unfolded in a way that, one might say, led them towards homelessness from the very beginning.
